Farm Service is a leader in the custom soil manufacturing industry. Since our founding in 1980, for over 30 years we’ve been producing high quality planting soils. By using only the best machinery, we are able to give you the best possible product available. Some of our products include topsoil, bio-retention soil, infield mix, custom planting soil, and more.
We’ve supplied material all throughout D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. We’ve supplied materials for the Charles County High School Athletic Fields, Wakefield High School, Arlington Cemetery, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, and even the White House. We are also a certified supplier of materials for Maryland State Highway Administration.
Topsoil is the upper, outermost layer of soil, usually the top 2 inches to 8 inches. That upper layer also has the highest concentration of organic material. You'll need this to make your grass grow as quick as weeds (but without weeds) and the plants in your garden grow.
Bioretention Soil Media
You may have seen these ponds around parking lots at the mall or the grocery, or any commercial development really. Those ponds use a special combination of plants and soil to break down chemicals from runoff to prevent the contamination of groundwater.
The diamond. The battleground of America's past time. The baseball field, just like the field of any outdoor sport, needs to be maintained at a high standard. Designed to get players back on the field after a hard rain, infield mix is designed to have a high permeability rate to do just that.
Light Weight Planting Soil
Besides the decorative benefit, rooftop gardens may provide food, temperature control, architectural enhancement, recreational opportunities, and may even have ecological benefits. In order for rooftops to support these gardens, you need a light weight planting soil.
Sand Filter Material
Sand filters are used as a step in the water treatment process of water purification. Sand filters can, apart from being used in water treatment plants, be used for water purification in singular households as they use materials which are available for most people.
